STEM Interest Group (STEMIG)

Purpose

The STEM Interest Group offers a statewide forum for discussing topics of interest to librarians and library staff who support the STEM fields - science, technology, engineering, and medicine/mathematics.

Areas of Interest

  • Current and best practices in information literacy for STEM students
  • Support for data management
  • Information sharing about specialized information tools that support STEM fields
  • Collection management issues for the STEM fields, such as cost increases for serials
  • Scholarly communication issues for STEM
  • Outreach to faculty and students in STEM fields
  • Creating library spaces and workflows that support STEM learners
  • Promoting STEM education through library events and services
